ABOUT THE JOURNAL

  GTAQ produces four newsletters under the banner of the Queensland Geographer for its members. The newsletters are high quality publications with information about

  • current events and offerings from GTAQ, AGTA and RGSQ
  • professional development
  • curriculum initiatives in relation to Senior Geography and Geo-SOSE
  • assessment items reviews of new print and media materials
  • sanity savers.

Members of GTAQ are reminded that, as GTAQ is a member of the Australian Geography Teachers Association, they are able to purchase publications from other state Geography Teacher Associations at MEMBERS prices receive the annual AGTA journal.

Potential contributors should note the following advice:

The editors invite contributions for possible inclusion in Queensland Geographer from persons interested in geography and the contribution it makes to the total school curriculum.

Articles should be typed on A4 double-spaced in 11-point type. They should be submitted by post along with a copy on IBM disk formatted in Word 6.0/7.0 if possible or as an e-mail attachment. ( A neatly written handwritten copy will be accepted.)

Photographs, diagrams and Illustrations should be relevant, clear, strong in contrast and suitable for publication without alteration. If requiring scanning please submit separately from text but indicate their location in the finished text. All tables and figures should be labelled according to convention.

Footnotes should not be used. References are shown using the Harvard System.

Author's full name should appear accompanied by details of position held and location of employment.

A covering letter, with return address, should accompany all submitted articles.

It is the author's responsibility to ensure articles are factually correct and due acknowledgment is given where appropriate.
